Overview
Unified Communications brings together traditional forms of communication, like voice calls, with modern forms of communications like chat, sms, video, and integrations for easy implementation into those modern systems. The current iteration of the Stapel Unified Communications platform as the following key features to help you make the most of your organization's
Logging In
The first thing you need is the Welcome email you should have received from the phone system. If you do not have that email, or cannot find it, please contact Stapel Support, and we will be happy to resend the email to your inbox.
The Extension Management Portal
The extension management portal is where you go to configure your extension and, for designated administrators, control other settings about the phone system for your organization. To log in, please continue reading.
In the welcome email, look for the "Extension Management Login Credential Information" section and follow these steps:
- Click the url link or go to https://pbx.stapel.io:8887
- Enter the "Sip Domain" information from the email and click "Next". (Note: If you do not see the Sip Domain field when going to this url, click the "Sign in as the tenant user" link right above the Sign In button.)
- Enter your extension User Name
- Enter your extension password
- Optional: Check the "Remember Me"
- Click "Sign In"
Once you're logged in, there are several features you can explore. We recommend clicking the Common UC How-To Documentation link at the bottom of this article to learn how to perform common functions such as setting up voicemail, call forwarding,
The WebRTC Portal (Softphone)
The WebRTC portal is a web based Software phone that can be used to make and receive phone calls, initiate web based meetings, and also chat with co-workers. Additionally, you can manage certain settings of your extension through this portal as well.
In the Welcome email, look for the "WebRTC Softphone Portal" section and follow these steps:
- Click the url link or go to https://uc.stapel.io:10443
- Enter the "SIP Domain" information from the email and click "Next"
- Enter the Extension Number
- Enter the Extension Password
- Choose your preferred language
- Optional: Check Remember Password and/or Auto Login
- Click "SIGN IN"
Once you're signed in, you can explore the features of the WebRTC client. This is the application you will use if you are using your Mac or Linux machine
